Kathy J. McDow, Master of Divinity
Founding Pastor, Kathy J. McDow Ministries
A Licensed and Ordained Minister of the Gospel, Pastor Kathy J. McDow has a great passion for sharing her faith in a tangible way by bringing messages of hope, healing and restoration along with providing access to human services, assisting individuals and families in need. Vibrant and articulate with a sense of humor, McDow accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in her youth. She has several years of progressive responsibility in church ministry and administration, nonprofit social services and corporate business management that provide a depth of knowledge and abilities well suited to her ministerial endeavors. She joined and served in ministry at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Phoenix, Arizona in 2000 and, in 2003 Pastor McDow was licensed to "preach the Gospel, perform marriages, administer the Sacraments, and to direct the other functions of the Ministry" by the late Bishop Alexis A. Thomas, Senior Pastor. In 2005 she enrolled at Fuller Theological Seminary headquarted in Pasadena, California.
In 2009, Reverend McDow relocated to Ingleside, Texas and united with the St. John Baptist Church of Corpus Christi, Texas, under the leadership of her former Senior Pastor, Dr. Derrick E. Reaves. She continued to fulfill her calling to gospel ministry while serving in Preaching and Teaching Ministry, Pulpit Ministry, Director of Small Groups and Director of Women's Ministry. From 2012 to present, McDow has served as Founding Pastor at Kathy J. McDow Ministries, a 501(c)3 religious, charitible organization bringing, “Hope, healing and restoration to all people by preaching and teaching the gospel and serving humanity!”
She is a Board Certified Christian Counselor (National Association of Christian Counselors, 2023); Ordained Minister of the Gospel (Rising Sfar Missionary Baptist Church of Tucson, Dr. Amos L. Lewis, 2023); holds a Master of Divinity Degree (Fuller Theological Seminary, 2015), and Bachelors Degree (St. Olaf College, 1976); and a self-published author of two devotional works – He Lights My Way, 2002 and Broken Just for You, 2006. McDow also has several years of professional business experience culminating in executive level human resources management from 1979 to the present day.
One of her greatest joys is introducing others to the saving grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ while ministering to underserved and at-risk individuals and families in local communities. “All that I am or would ever hope to be is by the grace of Almighty God,” says the Pastor! McDow enjoys a blessed single life, bowling, writing and reading, meeting people of diverse backgrounds while engaging in provocative theological, socio-political and philosophical discourse. She is blessed with an unconditional love of her God, her family and her cherished friends.
Elder Thomas M. McDow
Officer and Treasurer
Bio: A licensed Gospel Minister, Thomas is passionate about the Word of God and sound biblical teaching. He "takes it to the street" as he ministers to the homeless and the broken on the streets of greater Los Angeles. He organized and has given leadership to a jail ministry for victims, incarcerated individuals and their families. Elder McDow holds a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Next Dimension Bible College in Rancho Cucamonga, California. A former member of Living Stone Cathedral of Worship in Littlerock, California for eighteen years, McDow served as an Associate to Bishop Henry Hearns in preaching, teaching, altar and counseling ministries. He retired after twenty-nine years of employment as a Data Communications Analyst with the University of California at Los Angeles and is currently pursuing his passion of evangelizing for Christ as founder of Giant Slayers Ministry.
Elder McDow is married to Jeanetta Rowe-McDow and resides in Palmdale, California.
Minister Mary O. Lowe (In Memoriam)
Officer and Executive Administrator
Bio: A licensed Gospel Minister, Mary Lowe is a member of Cathedral of Praise International Ministries in San Bernadino, California where she serves in church administration. Having a heart for individuals and families who have suffered financial lack, Minister Lowe in a previous ministry fellowship, organized and gave oversight to food distribution programs for the homeless and participated in clothing ministries for women with histories of incarceration, domestic violence and drug abuse.
Minister Lowe established Lowe's Platinum Printing, "Where quality and affordability meet!", specializing in the creation of church bulletins and envelopes; souvenir booklets; funeral programs; business letterhead and envelopes; certificates; flyers; brochures; save-the-date cards; and more. She is married to Mack Arthur Lowe and resides in Fontana, California.
Sister Beverly G. McDow
Board Director
Bio: With a heart for serving others, Beverly McDow has spent almost thirty years of her life as a caregiver for her father and then for her mother. She approaches all people and situations with an attitude of what she might do to help.
Sister Beverly is currently a member of St. John Baptist Church of Corpus Christi, Texas where Dr. Derrick E. Reaves is Senior Pastor and Teacher. An avid Bible student, she has a sincere desire to grow in the knowledge and grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ. McDow is learning to share her faith with others through faith evangelism; and actively supports Reverend McDow as a ministry armor bearer.
She also has an extensive background as a licensed cosmetologist and experience as a licensed practical nurse; which she has continued to share her expertise with local community members and family. Sister Beverly's can do attitude makes her a valuable member of our ministry team!
Lisa "Tina" Wilson
Board Director
Bio: Tina holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management from Ottawa University in Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently serving as Vice President of Development at Benevilla (formerly Interfaith Community Care) in Surprise, Arizona, where "we envision a world where people thrive, control their own destinies and age gracefully."
Benevilla provides an array of community services to assist individuals and the elderly, who may be home bound, with eldercare, meals and medical transportation. Recently, an
intergenerational component was added and Benevilla now provides childcare. Wilson has an extensive background in human services, service excellence, project leadership, event management,
strategic business planning, and philanthropy. With several years of experience in the non-profit sector, Tina leads a dynamic team of development professionals in making the mission of the
organization a reality.
Jason R. Andrews
Board Director
Bio: Jason's appointment to the Board is another strategic move to enhance our understanding of individuals served at Kathy J. McDow Ministries. At thirty years old he can speak to this generation's worldview and their needs. Yet, he is certainly mature enough to put forth well thought out solutions to problems encountered by a younger demographic.
Born in South Central Los Angeles in the early 1980's was challenging at best for an African American male child at the height of gang infested neighborhoods and the infusion of crack cocaine onto the streets of Los Angeles. Jason grew to understand that he would have to set goals for his life and work hard toward achieving them. A graduate of the Bryman School in Phoenix, Arizona, He has demonstrated great tenacity by completing a plan of study and subsequently being licensed as a Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR). Jason resides in Phoenix, Arizona where he works in the medical field and enjoys a life of fun in the sun!
Michelle Nicole McDow
Board Director
BIO: Michelle (Shelli) McDow, MEd lives on Oahu in the State of Hawaii. She graduated from the University of Hawaii in 2011 with a Masters in Educational Psychology and a Graduate degree in Disability and Diversity Studies. In addition, she holds a Bachelors in Communication and Pan African studies from California State University Northridge. She attends church regularly at Pacific Revival Center in Honolulu Hawaii.
Shelli is a Case Manager at United States Veterans Initiative assisting homeless veterans with transitioning into permanent housing; has worked as a case manager for adults with blindness and developmental disabilities; and for the California State Assembly. Other educational endeavors include the University of Hawaii Hilo and Pierce College while concentrating in Hawaiian Studies and American Sign Language respectively. Shelli has a heart for all people and loves giving back to the community. She enjoys swimming, hula dancing and traveling.
