WHAT DOES MY LOVE FOR OTHERS HAVE TO DO WITH IT?
"If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother." (1 John 4:20-21)
Friends, this is as plain as it gets. We absolutely cannot love God and sow seeds of hatred against others. All are precious in God's sight and He has a vested interest in our well being. God sent His Son as an offering of His love for us (John 3:16). Jesus paid our sin debt on the cross of Calvary. This gift is for everyone who would call upon His name!
Yet we have received God's gift of love and we say we love Him back. However, our actions toward humanity would indicate there is no love in our hearts for other people. Perhaps they look different than us; worship different than us; maybe they are poor or diseased. We see these people everyday and we show them no love, mercy or kindness. God says we are liars if we say we love Him whom we have not seen!
PRAYER: Father God, forgive us for not showing love one to another for by this shall all know that we are your disciples (John 13:35). Help us to demonstrate the love you have shown us by your Son for one another. Help us to sow seeds of love and not hate; seeds of compassion and kindness and not indifference; help us to stop lying and honor you in truth. In Jesus name, amen.
Y'all be blessed . . . ❤️
